GRANT REQUIREMENTS
Grant awards are available only to 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations.
Funds must be used for the grantee organization’s operational expenses incurred on or before June 30, 2018.
Grant recipient must agree to provide an evaluation report of the organization’s operations and services, and an accounting of the use of the Basic Operating Grant funds.
The CLGF Board of Advisors reserves the right to request additional information at any time.
Grant funds not spent for approved purposes specified in the grant application must be returned to the CLGF.
Applicant organizations must attest that their membership and/or service population are contained within the Charlotte-Mecklenburg community, and must agree to use grant funds solely within Mecklenburg County.
FUNDING PRIORITIES
Promote the mission of the Fund: “…to pool the resources of individual donors, stakeholders and corporate sponsors to selectively fund grants that support LGBTQ individuals and families with the belief that all people should be treated with equal respect and dignity in all facets of the community.”
Serve at least one of the following populations: LGBT persons, and/or the LGBT community in whole.
Focus efforts on the Charlotte-Mecklenburg community.
Advance positive interaction and understanding of people who are LGBT.
Encourage leadership and dialogue around issues impacting the LGBT community.
Support individuals within the LGBT community as they make their personal journey through acceptance, pride, support of community, and leadership.
AREAS TYPICALLY NOT FUNDED
Networking infrastructure, hardware and software for computers or other similar forms of technology.
Projects that promote policy advocacy, political activity or religious views.
Debt retirement/deficit funding.
Projects typically the funding responsibility of federal, state or local government.
HIV/AIDS organizations and programs.
